In an effort to curb illegal gambling in the state, especially in the city of Houston, Texas, authorities have issued over a dozen illegal gaming warrants to kick off June. Per a recent report, the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force carried out 21 warrants related to suspected organized criminal activity and money laundering connected to the gambling rooms in Houston, Texas. Authorities said the warrants were part of an effort to disrupt and dismantle an ongoing illegal gambling operation in the area and nearby communities. In the report, though, authorities have not announced any arrests, filed criminal charges, or disclosed what evidence, if any, was seized during the raids. Officials said more details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.

Additionally, these warrants were served at establishments like Gold Chest, Pig Pen, TJ’s in La Marque, Rusty’s, Purple Building, Double Diamond, and 24/7 in Alvin.

The locations included a residence linked to the owner and operator of the Gold Chest game room, as well as a warehouse investigators believe was used to store and distribute illegal gambling machines.
As part of the investigation’s financial probe, detectives also executed 12 search warrants at multiple financial institutions to gather records and evidence related to the suspected operation. Members of the Organized Crime Task Force, along with personnel from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit, remained at multiple locations Tuesday as investigative activities continued.
Per the same update, several agencies assisted with the operation, including the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, Galveston Police Department, League City Police Department and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
