Entering week ten of the 2023 NCAA football season, a few teams have distanced themselves from the pack, while others are still fighting for their postseason bowl berths. In the Lone Star State, Big 12 and in-state foes, TCU and Texas Tech are set to square off in Lubbock. Both squads are coming off bye weeks and also looking to rebound from losses on the road. Meanwhile, over in the ACC, Wake Forest travels to Durham for a battle with the Blue Devils. Duke has been solid this year but has been up and down as of late with back-to-back losses to Louisville and Florida State. This could be a big bounce-back game for them as the Demon Deacons are reeling from a 41-16 trouncing at the hands of the Seminoles.

In this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from each squad in this article, a predicted matchup winner, and also more notes about college football betting.

NCAA Football Game One Overview

Team Spotlight: TCU Horned Frogs

TCU enters this game looking for a big rebound performance after getting thrashed by Kansas State, 41-3 on the road. Nonetheless, at 4-4, the Horned Frogs are nearing bowl eligibility but would need a nice conference win over Texas Tech to significantly increase their chances. Both squads have common opponents in Kansas State, BYU, and West Virginia with TCU going 1-2 and Tech notching an 0-3 record against those foes. Moreover, the Horned Frogs have an overall point margin differential of minus-eight to the Red Raiders’ minus-38 to those opponents. Regardless, winning in Lubbock will be tough as quarterback Chandler Morris (12 touchdowns, 1513 passing yards) aims to lead his team to victory.

Team Spotlight: Texas Tech Red Raiders

Texas Tech has an identical conference record to TCU at 2-3, but the Red Raiders need a rebound game coming off their bye week. Riding a two-game losing streak with losses to BYU and Kansas State, Texas Tech is looking for a huge game out of running back Tahj Brooks. The senior playmaker paces the Tech running backs with 891 rushing yards on the season along with six scores. Wide receiver Myles Price is another athlete to look out for as he leads the squad with 331 receiving yards on the year, along with four touchdowns. The Red Raiders are also 2-2 at home this season and are usually fairly tough to play in Lubbock.

Prediction: This game is really a coin-flip contest in many ways, but take TCU to squeeze out a win on the road given their higher level of success against common opponents.

NCAA Football Game Two Overview

Team Spotlight: Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Entering conference play, the Demon Deacons were a strong 3-0 with high hopes of surprising the rest of the ACC. Since then, Wake Forest has come back down to earth with a mark of 1-4 in conference play. While the squad did secure its first conference win against Pitt, 21-17, a couple of weeks ago at home, they were then outmatched by Florida State the following week. Quarterback Mitch Griffis has been solid this year for Wake, throwing for nearly 1,300 yards along with nine passing scores. However, the Demon Deacons give up 256.5 passing yards per game which has been the Achilles heel of their team.

Team Spotlight: Duke Blue Devils

Duke has gained an average of 350.4 yards per game with a remarkably balanced offense as they average 170 yards-plus for both rushing and passing (170.5 and 179.9, respectively). However, they give up nearly as many yards as they gain, surrendering 320.3 per contest. With an ACC record of 2-2, the Blue Devils have been ranked in the AP Top 25 at various points this season and have put together one of their stronger campaigns in recent memory. Running back Jordan Waters is a consistent touchdown machine with nine scores this season.

Prediction: While the TCU and Tech matchup should be a close one, this contest will not be as evenly matched. Take the Blue Devils to pull away against Wake
