Kicking off your UFC Fight Night 239 betting, the main contest of the evening will be a heavyweight between Tai Tuivasa and Marcin Tybura. This bout was initially supposed to be a part of UFC 298 but was moved to this card as the headliner. Meanwhile, the other big event of the evening will be a light heavyweight battle pitting Ovince Saint Preux against Kennedy Nzechukwu. Known as “OSP,” he has a career record of 26-17 and is an MMA veteran at 40 years of age, but he has challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in the past. His opponent is nine years his junior and is looking for a big win over OSP.

UFC Men’s Heavyweight contest overview: Tai Tuivasa vs. Marcin Tybura

Fighter Spotlight: Tai Tuivasa

Recognized as the No. 9 overall fighter in the UFC heavyweight rankings, Tuivasa is one of the toughest fighters in the UFC. With a career mark of 14-6, he has scored an impressive 13 knockout wins in his career. However, he has come on some hard times as of late with three consecutive losses, including two by knockout in his last couple of bouts. Of course, he could certainly turn things around with a big outing here against Tybura. A fantastic competitor when he is on his game, he has accrued four Performance of the Night outings in his career

Fighter Spotlight: Marcin Tybura

Tuivasa’s opponent, Tybura has been a professional fighter since 2011 and previously fought for M-1 where he was the M-1 Global Heavyweight Champion along with the M-1 Grand Prix 2013 Heavyweight Champion. Like his opponent, he is ranked as the No. 10 overall in the UFC heavyweight rankings. Also, similar to his opponent, he has notched a handful of Performance of the Night matches (three total) along with a variety of different wins. In his career, he has a record of 24-8 including nine knockout wins and six submission victories. While he did lose to Tom Aspinall last July, he has not lost back-to-back bouts since 2019.

Prediction: This should be an excellent contest with some great knockout potential. Of course, the slight edge here goes to Tuivasa thanks to his sensational knockout ability and toughness showcased in each of his fights.

UFC Men’s Light Heavyweight contest breakdown: Ovince Saint Preux vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu

Fighter Spotlight: Ovince Saint Preux

A competitor that has been fighting since 2008, OSP is perhaps nearing the end of his career at 40 years of age. With a career record of 26-17, he has also scored 12 knockouts in his career. As of late though, he has struggled, losing four of his last six fights, including being knocked out three times. In his last fight, he was knocked out in the first round against Philipe Lins, but he was still able to score a split decision win over Mauricio Rua at UFC 274. In the past couple of fights, he has taken a year off of fighting between bouts starting with Tanner Boser in 2021. Of course, he will have had some extra rest here after not fighting since February of last year.

Fighter Spotlight: Kennedy Nzechukwu

At 31 years of age, Nzechukwu has a nine-year age advantage over his opponent. Prior to his last fight, a loss against Dustin Jacoby, he had strung together a three-fight winning streak which he had won in amazing fashion. In two of those bouts, he scored a knockout victory including an elbow-assisted takedown of Karl Roberson. With eight career knockout wins, Nzechukwu has some sensational power and will be looking for a big victory over the veteran OSP.

Prediction: Another engaging bout, take the younger Nzechukwu to win over the veteran OSP in a strong fashion. Of course, there is the chance for an upset here, but the Nigerian fighter is on the rise.
