The NCAAF season continues into it’s penultimate regular season week of games this weekend, as the USC Trojans travel to take on the Oregon Ducks.
The Trojans have had an excellent season so far and come into the game as the number-15-ranked team in the country, with an 8-2 record. The Ducks, on the other hand, have also had a fine campaign and come into the game as the number-seven-ranked team in the country, with a 9-1 record.

The Trojans have had a terrific season in 2025 after a disappointing 2024, proving the talents they have within their roster.
USC opened their campaign with four consecutive victories, where it became apparent that their offensive unit was going to be dangerous, but the defense needed improvement and to stick together to get results.
The opening game against the Missouri State Bears saw USC come away with a stunning 73-13 victory at home, before making it 2-0 with a dominant 59-20 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles. The team then travelled to face off with Purdue Boilermakers in game three, and came away with a 33-17 win, before defeating Michigan State Spartans 45-31 in week four.
The team then fell to their first defeat of the season against the Illinois Fighting Illini, as they were beaten 34-32 on the road, before bouncing back with a 31-13 win over Michigan Wolverines.
However, another defeat followed against their rivals Notre Dame Fighting Irish in their next game, as they lost 34-32 in a disappointing performance. Since then, they have responded brilliantly and come into this game on the back of a three-game win streak against Nebraska Cornhuskers, Northwestern Wildcats and Iowa Hawkeyes most recently.

After being crowned National Champions according to the Wolfe Ratings for the 2024 season, the Oregon Ducks have had a terrific 2025 season to build upon.
An opening game against the Montana State Bobcats saw the campaign begin with a 59-13 win, before a huge 69-3 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in game two continued their strong form. The team then travelled to face the Northwestern Wildcats and claimed a 34-14 win, before returning home to defeat Oregon State Beavers 41-7.
The team then extended their 100% record for the campaign in game five against the Penn State Nittany Lions in double-overtime, but they then fell to their first – and only – defeat of the season against the Indiana Hoosiers.
Since then, the Ducks have won four games in a row. Oregon demolished Rutgers Scarlet Knights 56-10 to get back to winning ways, and have since defeated the Wisconsin Badgers, Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Golden Gophers to come into this big game in fantastic form.
The Oregon Ducks are well known for the previously reckless approach, where they would run as many plays as possible to score as many points as they could, rather than just playing to win the game. But since Dan Lanning came in as the head coach, the team are far more calculated in their approach, and defensively are far more astute.
The defensive line is currently ranked in the top ten in EPA per pass allowed, and their route to victory is clear – stop Jayden Maiava and Makai Lemon, and you win the game. While stopping them is likely to be nigh-on impossible, slowing them down will help, which will make the Under far more attractive.
The Ducks also lead the rankings in EPA per rush, and they will know that the USC Trojans’ poor run defense, which is ranked 126th in the country, will be a great way for them to gain yardage and score points. As they run those plays and take a patient approach to the end zone, the clock will continue ticking, which once again helps the Under to land.
USC have seen the Under hit in four of their last five games too, while also going Under in five of their last six games on the road. Oregon has scored 21 points or fewer in two of its last three, whereas USC has held each of its last three opponents to 21 or fewer.
At -110, the value is there on the Under, so take it while you can before the spread moves.
