Speaking of sports odds, the resident oddsmaker and expert at the MyBookie sportsbook just recently released his predictions for the 2022 MLB season earlier this month.

Check it all out below with this month’s update from SBS.

Oddsmaker makes betting picks for American League

Earlier this month according to a release from Cision, PR Newswire, MyBookie oddsmaker David Strauss shared his picks and predictions for the upcoming baseball season. Currently, Strauss has pegged the Houston Astros as the American League Pennant Winner at +370 odds. According to his analysis, Strauss believes that the Astros remain the top team to win the American League even if the odds say it is Toronto at +350. The main reasoning behind this is that the AL West could be the worst division in baseball this season. Strauss also pointed out that Houston’s starting pitching rotation could be the best in baseball if Justin Verlander returns to Cy Young form.

The oddsmaker from MyBookie also shared some of his other AL insights in the release. For instance, he thinks that the AL Cy Young winner will be Lucas Giolito of the Chicago White Sox (+1100). Strauss said that is an odds play and that prospective favorite Gerrit Cole’s current odds make him an underlay. He also pointed out that Giolito offers decent odds, gets some protection in the rotation because Lance Lynn is also an ace and could reach his peak this season.

Finally, he says that Los Angeles Angels All-Star Mike Trout is the preferred candidate to win AL MVP at +1900. In his breakdown, the oddsmaker says that the Angels best player is flying under the radar this season because teammate Shohei Ohtani was so brilliant last season. He also pointed out that his odds suggest he’s the best player to once again prove why some place him on the same level as the best to ever play baseball.

Strauss breaks down the National League and also some World Series dark horse picks

With his breakdown already placed on the AL, Strauss made some NL picks as well. For the NL pennant winner, he has placed the Los Angeles Dodgers (+200) as the best to win the Senior Circuit. As for the Cy Young honoree, the MyBookie oddsmaker has tabbed Corbin Burnes of the Milwaukee Brewers (+1100) as the choice to take home the honor. For the NL MVP side of the equation, Strauss has pegged Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies as his choice to win next season. In his analysis, Strauss said that Harper proved he’s the best player in the National League and there is no reason to believe Harper slows down in 2022.

Knowing what the presumptive favorites look like, Strauss also handed out some dark horse picks too. For the World Series winners, he has tabbed the Blue Jays (+760), White Sox (+1075) and the Red Sox (+1600) as some likely contenders for the Fall Classic. The MyBookie oddsmaker also pointed out that the Phillies at +2500 could be a sleeper pick with one of the strongest lineups in MLB at the plate.
