Tyson vs. Lewis Boxing Odds

Check out the latest betting odds from top boxing betting site Bovada. As you can see, Lennox Lewis is currently the underdog, but it is by no means a blowout. Also, expect some line movement between now and the fight in September, based on each boxer’s training. Iron Mike might start to show his rust well before he steps foot in the boxing ring.

Lennox Lewis

Heading into this exhibition bout, Lennox Lewis has been WBC Heavyweight Champion, a title that this champ defended three times. He is truly one of boxing’s legends.

After two fights against Evander Holyfield, Lewis became the undisputed heavyweight champion by unifying his WBC title with Holyfield’s WBA and IBF titles. He ended up losing both of these titles, not by losing matches but rather when the organizations decided to strip him of their titles.

The WBA did so in 2000 when Lewis rejected the obligatory challenger John Ruiz, choosing instead to fight Michael Grant. The IBF took away Lewis’ title in 2002 also for declining a mandatory challenger. This time it was Chris Byrd. If you get to choose who you fight, it becomes much easier to defend titles.

We will see how this 55 year old British Canadian boxer has been keeping up! Hopefully he has been taking his vitamins.

Mike Tyson

Iron Mike! What else is there to say about this living legend. The man has done it all it seems even as he heads into retirement he continues to enjoy stepping into the ring for boxing matches.

During the last matchup between these two greats in Tennessee on June 8, 2002, Tyson lost by TKO in the eighth round. A lot of time has passed for both of these sports giants, so if you are making over/under round bets, do not expect it to last so long this time.

The Baddest Man on the Planet started his career on fire, winning all of his first 19 matches by KO, 12 of them in the first round. While he was once the undisputed heavyweight champion for three years, his reputation and body have gone through many phases since then.

Despite having lost last time to Lewis, he is considered the favorite this time around.
