ncaaf betting week 12

In week 12 of the college football season, a few MAC teams are angling for a conference title, while others are looking to just finish the season on a high note. For instance, this Wednesday night, Buffalo travels to Miami, Ohio for a showdown with the sensational RedHawks. Meanwhile, the Ohio Bobcats are trying to catch the division-leading RedHawks but will have to dispatch the pesky Chippewas of Central Michigan at home if they want to keep pace. Both games should feature some spectacular MAC-tion this Wednesday night with the home teams looking for some big wins.

For this article, SBS will be going over what to look for from each of these teams and also a predicted winner in each contest.

NCAA Football Game One Overview

Team Spotlight: Buffalo Bulls

The Bulls enter this contest at 3-7 and are trying to finish the 2023 football season on a high note while also looking to snap a two-game skid. Buffalo quarterback Cole Snyder has been solid this year with 1,854 passing yards and 13 scores but needs to cut down on the turnovers (nine picks this season). Running back Ron Cook Jr. has been a great asset on the ground this year with five rushing scores along with 517 yards. Moreover, the Buffalo defense was somewhat successful against Ohio last week, winning the total yard advantage, 295-236, but was unable to muster enough points to upend the Bobcats.

Team Spotlight: Miami (OH) RedHawks

On the opposite side of the Bulls will be Miami (OH) and their excellent quarterback, Brett Gabbert. The younger brother of NFL quarterback, Blaine Gabbert, the younger Gabbert has been very efficient with the ball this season, accruing 14 passing scores to just five interceptions. Moreover, the RedHawks are coming off back-to-back wins over conference foes including a dominating 19-0 win over Akron at home and before that, a great 30-16 victory over 7-3 Ohio. Indeed, Miami has established itself as the class of its division as it chases down MAC-leading Toledo.

Prediction: A fun contest, take Miami to take care of business at home over the mistake-prone Bulls.

NCAA Football Game Two Overview

Team Spotlight: Central Michigan Chippewas

Fresh off a loss on the road to Western Michigan, 38-28, Central Michigan is aiming to keep its bowl game hopes alive as they sit at 5-5. Running back Marion Lukes is one to look out for as he paces the offense with 609 rushing yards and has four rushing scores. With a conference mark of 3-3, CMU would need only one win to clinch a bowl berth but are looking for more momentum as they aim for a postseason run. However, they have struggled mightily on the road this year, accumulating a record of 1-5.

Team Spotlight: Ohio Bobcats

Ohio has had another solid year in 2023 and is in a position to compete for a conference crown if they pull out another win this week. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke is the focal point of the offense with 1,777 passing yards and ten touchdown scores. Ohio has been excellent at home too with a 4-1 record. However, they were just upended a couple of weeks ago by conference-leading Miami (OH), 30-16, at home and are aiming for a big rebound performance this week. The Bobcats will need a big game from running back Sieh Bangura as he leads the team in rushing with 564 yards and six scores.

Prediction: Another solid conference battle, take Ohio to win at home over the scrappy Chippewas
