The NFL returns for week 4 of the season with the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs hosting the New York Jets at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The Chiefs have opened the season by going 2-1 after a shock loss in the opening game of the season, with Patrick Mahomes rediscovering his excellent form, while the Jets are 1-2 after consecutive defeats in their last two games.

The reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs stepped into the 2023 season with a trip to face off with the Detroit Lions, with many expecting a rout, but eventually suffering a shock come-from-behind defeat despite having led 14-7 at half-time.
Kansas bounced back in week 2 though against the Jacksonville Jaguars, putting in a solid display of defensive strength and efficient offense to claim a 17-9 win and get back on track of their championship defense.
Then in week 3 they showed their true selves as Mahomes threw three passing touchdowns to help the Chiefs romp to a 41-10 victory, including a 27-0 second quarter.
As for the Jets, it’s been a less than fun start to the season for them. Week 1 saw them defeat the Buffalo Bills in overtime with a 22-16 victory in part thanks to a stunning fourth-quarter comeback.
Week 2 saw them suffer a heavy loss against the Dallas Cowboys as they failed to score in three of the four quarters and couldn’t defend well against a strong offense coming at them. That was then followed up by a 15-10 defeat by New England Patriots in week 3 as they tried and failed to stage another late comeback.

The Chiefs have been dominant against the Jets in recent years, which explains why they’re such heavy moneyline favorites. The big 9.5 point spread is rare in the NFL, however it’s crucial to consider the teams’ current form and overall performance.
