It’s official, the Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Super Bowl LVII, as the two best teams in the league this season prepare for a showdown.
But behind those teams are the superstars who have driven them to success over the season, and led them to within touching distance of the biggest honor in the sport.

Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts is the favorite to win Super Bowl MVP as the quarterback of the favorites to win the Super Bowl.
That is normal, considering that 31 quarterbacks have been named Super Bowl MVP out of 56 previous editions of the biggest show in sports.
Philadelphia is currently a slim favorite for the game in the betting odds, and Hurts has been the key man all season. The teams’ lethal offense has revolved around the dual-threat quarterback, who has thrown for 24 touchdowns this season and also ran for 15 more.
Hurts has continued to be a force in the Eagles’ running game, too, enabling head coach Nick Sirianni to exploit many matchups against opponents.
He is the third quarterback to reach the Super Bowl after being his team’s outright leader in rushing touchdowns during the season (13). In only his second full season as a starter, Hurts has shown excellent development when throwing from the pocket, having completed 66.5% of his throws for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdown passes.
If Philadelphia are to capitalise on their standing as the favorites to claim victory, then there is no way that Hurts won’t be a key part of that success, and he’s likely to be awarded for that too.

In five years with Patrick Mahomes as the starter, the Kansas City Chiefs have gone to five AFC Championships and three Super Bowls.
Mahomes and this Chiefs team will be looking for their second title this season, and while the star quarterback is still clearly hampered by the ankle sprain that saw him drop out of the Divisional game and then play through the pain in the AFC Championship game.
With that said, he still managed to complete 29 of 43 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns — with a scramble late in the fourth quarter to set up the game-winning field goal in the clash against Cincinnati.
Even on one leg, Mahomes is still the main man behind the Chief’s successes.
Mahomes already has a Super Bowl title, a Super Bowl MVP award and an MVP award, and the Chiefs have hosted the AFC Championship Game in each of his five seasons as their starter.
He’s now expected to win MVP again after leading the NFL in passing yards (5,250), touchdown passes (41) and Total QBR (77.5) during this regular season.
Mahomes will be looking to become the ninth quarterback to have multiple Super Bowl championships, and if the Chiefs are able to get it over the line then there is no doubt that it will be him who is the mastermind behind it.
The most dominant tight end in football, Travis Kelce slaughtered the Jacksonville Jaguars for 14 catches, 98 yards and two touchdowns in the Divisional Round.
He followed that up with seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in the AFC Championship, despite being down as a doubt with a back injury before the game actually started.
Mahomes’ favorite target looked no worse for wear in that game, and with two weeks to heal up, will again be an integral part of any Kansas City success against the Eagles.
But with Kelce having finished the season ranked first in the NFL for receptions (110), receiving yards (1338) and receiving touchdowns (12), there is every chance that he can bring success to Kansas even if Mahomes isn’t at his best during the game.
He has been his quarterback’s safety net all season and has had an enormous postseason with three touchdownss and 176 receiving yards in just two games.
Kelce has had three multi-touchdown games in the post-season, including a four-touchdown game against the Las Vegas Raiders and a two-score game in the divisional round against the Jaguars.
If he has two or three touchdownss, or a host of catches with 120-yardsand the Chiefs win, he will likely win game MVP.
