UFC Men’s Flyweight Championship Matchup Overview: Deiveson Figueiredo (c) vs. Brandon Moreno (ic)

Fighter Spotlight: Deiveson Figueiredo

The current UFC Flyweight Champion in his second reign, the Brazilian fighter is one of the sport’s most exciting stars when he is on his game. Recognized as a top-15 fighter in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings, Figueiredo will be squaring off with his old foe Moreno for an unprecedented fourth time. In fact, the Brazilian’s last three bouts have all come against the Mexican MMA star, with the first fight ending in a draw (UFC 256), the second in a submission loss (263), and the final bout a unanimous decision win for Figueiredo at UFC 270. With that fight almost one year ago exactly (January 22, 2022), this clash will feature two well-rested and hungry fighters.

Fighter Spotlight: Brandon Moreno

On the opposite side of the Octagon from Figueiredo is Moreno, who is looking to avenge his loss from one year ago. Since losing the UFC Flyweight Championship last January, Moreno would go on to win the interim Flyweight title at UFC 277 in a bout against Kai Kara-France. Earning Fight of the Night honors, Moreno was able to deliver a stellar TKO win over his rival to take back the belt and set up a showdown with his old Brazilian foe. After dropping a couple of fights to start his pro career, Moreno has been nearly flawless since 2019, with his only loss coming to Figueiredo at UFC 270 (a mark of 5-1-2). Indeed he is set up for another great match in the fourth installment of their rivalry.

Prediction: The main x-factor here is if Figueiredo has any kind of ring rust in his game after not fighting for a year. It should not matter, though as the Brazilian will win in the quadrilogy bout

UFC Men’s Light Heavyweight Championship Contest: Glover Teixeira vs. Jamahal Hill

Fighter Spotlight: Glover Teixeira

The No. 2 ranked fighter in the UFC light heavyweight rankings, Teixeira’s career has been marked by sensational consistency as the second oldest UFC champion if history behind Hall of Famer Randy Couture. This will be the 43-year-old’s first fight since losing to Jiří Procházka at UFC 275 via rear-naked choke, dropping his career record to 33-8. While this was an unfortunate setback for the former champion, Teixeira is still one of the most dominant fighters in his weight class. Known for his stellar stopping power (18 career knockouts), the 43-year-old will have plenty of motivation going into this bout and reclaim his championship.

Fighter Spotlight: Jamahal Hill

Known as “Sweet Dreams,” Hill is a combatant that will be fighting in the biggest match of his career to date when he takes on Teixiera for the light heavyweight title. While this will be certainly best a huge test for the 31-year-old, he is no stranger to stellar performances as he is coming off three consecutive Fight of the Night/Performance of the Night bouts. In his last match against Thiago Santos, Hill was able to stop the fight in the fourth round with a TKO win via punches and elbows. In fact, the light heavyweight is also a proficient knockout fighter, with seven of his 11 total career wins coming by way of KO/TKO.

Prediction: In what should be a bruising battle, Hill has the slight edge here thanks to his current win streak and the ability to perhaps outlast the ageless wonder, Teixeira
