Per a recent article, Elk Grove has received a donation of more than $1 million from Wilton Rancheria and Sky River Casino to aid in road improvements, marking a significant investment in the city’s infrastructure and future. The donation is part of a growing partnership that Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen said benefits the city as its population continues to boom. “As the city continues to grow, so do our transportation needs. And very specifically roadway improvement and infrastructure,” Singh-Allen said.

Facenda said. “We are proud to deliver this supplemental contribution that is an incredible example of how businesses and entities should give back to the communities they serve.”
The contribution highlights the collaborative and continued commitment to regional infrastructure, as outlined in the agreements that provide funding for crucial roadway and community improvements in the Elk Grove area, the article notes.
“When we built Sky River casino, our vision extended beyond our own community. Per the release, the funds will be allocated to projects such as the following: Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Implementation. This funding is for transportation technology to dynamically manage traffic signals and optimize flow on previously widened and improved major arterials, such as Kammerer Road and Grant Line Road. Additionally, this covers Preventive Roadway Maintenance. More specifically, this is geared toward dedicated funds for accelerated preventive maintenance and pavement preservation on key regional connector routes impacted by increased regional usage.

The expansion plan is scheduled for completion in 2027. Mayor Singh-Allen expressed gratitude for the continued partnership: “The cooperation between the City, Wilton Rancheria, and Sky River Casino continues to provide tangible benefits to our residents. The significant funding will help us accelerate projects that directly improve the daily lives of commuters and reinforce our commitment to safe, accessible infrastructure across Elk Grove.” Built in partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation, which is managing the property for the Tribe, the casino opened in August 2022.
