New York Giants vs Buffalo Bills information

Season so far

The Bills opened their season with a game against the New York Jets that went all the way through to overtime, before a touchdown saw them lose 22-16 in game 1. After that they went on a great run which saw them win three games in a row.

They thrashed the Las Vegas Raiders in week 2 with a 38-10 score, not conceding a point in the second half at all before they went on to smash the Washington Commanders in week 3 with a 37-3 scoreline, only conceding their points in the fourth quarter.

Week 4 saw them go up against the Miami Dolphins where they earned a huge 48-20 win, scoring double-digit points in the first three quarters to ensure they had a healthy need and could take the fourth quarter a little bit lighter. Last time out they suffered a disappointing defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, where 27 of the combined 45 points were scored in the last quarter.

New York on the other hand have had a terrible season so far and it started as badly as it possibly could, losing 40-0 to the Dallas Cowboys.

They bounced back with a win in week 2 though, beating the Arizona Cardinals 31-28 thanks to a huge second half comeback which saw them win the third quarter 14-8 before winning the final quarter 17-0 to claim the victory.

Since then it’s all gone downhill though, losing heavily in week 3 to the San Francisco 49ers 30-12, in week 4 to the Seattle Seahawks 24-3 and then most recently to the Miami Dolphins 31-16 in week 5.

NFL Picks: Bills -14 @ -110

On paper, this game looks like a one-sided mauling waiting to happen.

The Giants haven’t scored a first-half offensive touchdown this season, have not reached the end zone in 125 minutes of game action, and may not have Saquon Barkley or starting quarterback Daniel Jones available for this Sunday night clash..

The Bills meanwhile are averaging the third-most points per game this season across the NFL and they also boast a solid defense, despite the season-ending Achilles injury to Tre’Davious White, leading the NFL with 21 sacks.

New York’s defense is giving up the sixth-most yards per game (378) and has just three takeaways in five games, so Josh Allen will feel he can get the offense firing in this game.

In Buffalo’s three wins, their average margin of victory is 30 points, including a pair of 28-point wins at Highmark Stadium over the Raiders and Dolphins. They’re scoring for fun at home and New York are down bad defensively.

The Giants offense has shown no ability to get in the end zone, especially in primetime games. New York has been outscored 94-15 in night games this season, most recently its 24-3 loss to the Seahawks in Week 4.

The spread may shoot up between the time of writing and kick-off, but at -14 it actually looks like a good value bet right now.

NFL Picks: Under 44.5 total points @ -110

Considering we’re going for the Bills to win the game by at least 15 points, backing the total points to be under 45 seems a bit counter-productive.

But the facts are that New York just simply can’t score to save their lives right now, and that means the chances of them doing enough to help boost this tally are slim to none.

Graham Gano‘s ability to blast long-range field goals has been about the only consistent element of the Giants’ offense. Buffalo may end up surpassing the Over on its own, but New York’s defense has been a little scrappier of late, surrendering only 26 points per game over the past three weeks against San Francisco, Seattle, and Miami.

Over bettors will need the Giants to score at least two touchdowns, and I don’t think they can count on that happening.

That makes the under the play for this Sunday night clash in the NFL, and at -110 there is solid value in it.
