Overview of BetUS:

A privately held online gaming sportsbook, BetUS is one of the most consistent names in online wagering. Recognized as one of the oldest and most well-known online gaming promotions of the last 25 years, BetUS is used by customers all over the world. Whether it is sports, breaking news, politics, Hollywood affairs or another current event, BetUS might have a betting line for you. For instance, in this month’s update the site has released odds for a hypothetical boxing match between entrepreneur Kanye West and comedian/actor Pete Davidson

Below, SBS takes a closer look at this new development at BetUS and what consumers make of it.

Ye opens as -170 favorite to win in proposed fight

According to a press release from BetUS, the sportsbook has opened preliminary betting odds on a potential $60 million boxing match between West and Davidson. This was after YouTube sensation and boxing promoter, Jake Paul, offered in mid-March a guaranteed $30 million to each of the men for a proposed six round contest.

West, who legally changed his name Ye in 2021, has opened the hypothetical match as the presumptive favorite over Davidson. For those not familiar with the background of this bout here, West and Davidson have been sparring on social media the last couple of months since Davidson started dating West’s ex-wife Kim Kardhasian. Since the start of this year, West has been lashing out on social media regarding the treatment of his family being split up and also against Davidson. Though he was declared legally single on March 2, 2022, the rapper has been getting into outbursts on social media, something for which he has been known to do in spurts at times.

Davidson on the other hand, has been somewhat more professional when it comes to taunts from West. While the King of Staten Island star did eventually respond back to West’s insults back in March (with an incendiary message of his own), he did extend an olive branch in order to do what is best for West’s young children. However, Davidson has shown he is not above throwing verbal barbs at West and defending himself and his new girlfriend.

Odds also offered for different outcomes of the fight

Per the main BetUS sportsbook, there are five current odds breakdowns for the proposed contest. For Davidson to win by KO, TKO or disqualification, the moneyline stands at +400. If he were to win by decision, it would be a +250 moneyline. West’s lines are more in line with his favorite status with a win via KO, TKO, or DQ falls at +150. A decision victory registers in at -120. Finally, a draw in this contest is placed at +1000 per the BetUS sportsbook.

Not much is known about the fighting history of each competitor. In the past, West has had more of a cantankerous history with the law. After pleading no contest in 2014 to misdemeanor battery for assaulting a paparazzi member, West was sentenced to two years of probation and 24 anger management sessions. Also earlier this year, he was accused of punching a fan which could lead to a battery charge, but no concrete criminal complaints have been filed. Davidson, meanwhile, has had a more clean record when it comes to the law. Neither of these entertainers also seem to have big track records when it comes to athletics, both preferring the arts to sports.
