With many conference championship games wrapping up in college football, it is firmly bowl season in NCAA Division I. Just in the nick of time, BetOnline’s $50,000 College Pick’em Contest is here for fans of NCAA football and avid wagerers of the sport. Registration for this competition already opened on Wednesday, November 23rd, but will close on Tuesday, December 27th at 11:50 am ET. This handicapping contest will run from Tuesday the 27th to Monday, January 9th, 2023. For this competition, contestants must make a selection, against the spread (ATS) for each of the college bowl games listed and whoever has the most points at the end will be declared the winner. More details are below.

In this article, SBS will be going over what to look for from this new BetOnline promotion and also some more thoughts about using BetOnline.

BetOnline contest guarantees prizes for the top 350 finishers

Per the main BetOnline contest rules page, with points accumulating for a maximum of 25 points, if a contestant finishes in the top 350, they will win a piece of the $50,000 cash prize pool. The odds of each game are determined by the current odds available in the BetOnline Sportsbook and contest picks can only be made online. Contestants must have a valid BetOnline account to register for the College Bowl Pick’Em Contest and can participate in the contest by purchasing at least one entry per the main contest rules page.

Moreover, contestants can enter two times, as the first entry will cost $20, then the second entry will be just $10. In this case, and as most have surmised, entry purchases will be deducted from a contestant’s BetOnline Sportsbook balance. Additionally, the deadline for purchasing entries will be 12/27/22 and any entries can be purchased anytime before that deadline. Also, as with most BetOnline contests, registration is only available online, all sales are final, and there are no refunds.

First place prize for NCAA football competition will be $10k

Per the main contest rules page on BetOnline, the top three contestants will receive cash prizes as follows: first place, $10,000, second place, $5,000, and third place will get a prize of $3,500. After that, contestants will receive smaller prize amounts all the way until 350th place ($60). For more prize breakdown information, make sure to visit the official contest rules page on BetOnline.com. For this competition, contestants earn one (1) point for every correct pick and a half-point pick (0.5) for a push. Once a pick is made, it will be saved automatically with the odds available at the time of selection. Contestants may submit or change picks at any time until the specified start time of each game.

For this contest, if a game is canceled or postponed for any reason and the game is not played before January 11, 2023, both teams scheduled to play in that game will be graded as losers. Regarding tiebreaker rules, if various participants remain in a tie after the tie-breaker, the winnings will be split along with the next lowest prize. The site uses the example of if two contestants tie for first place with 22 points, they will split the first and second-place prizes. Additionally, the participant with the next highest point total will win the third-place prize. Winners will be paid directly into their BetOnline.ag accounts within 72 hours after the completion of the CFP National Championship on Monday, January 9th, 2023.
