As the clock ticks closer to the opening kickoff of the 2022 NFL season, BetOnline keeps the hits coming with a fantastic new NFL-centric contest. Per the official BetOnline site, the sportsbook just recently rolled out its $500,000 NFL MegaContest. With an entry fee of $100 and with a deadline of September 12th, this a must-play competition if you consider yourself an expert when it comes to the professional gridiron. This will be a season-long handicapping contest that runs Week 1 through Week 18 of the 2022 NFL regular season.

For this report, SBS will go over what to look for from this fantastic contest and also some other great tips and tricks from BetOnline.

NFL MegaContest players are able to enter up to five times

According to BetOnline’s official contest overview, registration for this competition opened in mid-July and will continue until mid-September. Contestants for this MegaContest must have a valid BetOnline account to register. To participate, customers must purchase at least one entry for $100 and can enter up to five times and will receive a discount on every additional entry purchased. For instance, after the first entry, the second and third entries will be discounted at $75 and $50, respectively. The fourth and fifth entries will be valued at $25 each.

All entry purchases will be deducted from your BetOnline sportsbook balance and can be purchased all the way until the deadline in September. Registration for the MegaContest is only available online and players cannot register via phone, chat or email. All sales are final and there are no refunds in this competition.

Contestants must consistently pick winners ATS to win

Every week, contestants must pick five NFL regular season games against the spread (ATS) and will earn points if they make some winning selections. The spread will be determined by the current odds available in the BetOnline sportsbook. Once a selection is made, then the pick itself will automatically save with the odds available at the time of the choice. Contestants will earn one point (1) for every correct pick and a half-point (0.5) for a push. Players who submit less than five picks only receive points for selected games and if no games are chosen, then no points will be allotted.

On a special note, the NFL regular season must consist of at least 10 weeks for the BetOnline MegaContest to be considered valid. For first place in this competition, one player will receive the top prize of $200,000. From there, second and third place will lock down a cool $50k and $25k, respectively. The full prize pool breakdown can be found on BetOnline’s website. Contestants will also be competing for quarterly prizes of $5,000 each which are paid to the contestants that accumulate the most points during each quarter of the NFL season.
