In preparation for the biggest awards night in prime time television, BetNow has gotten in on the action by releasing the betting markets for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. Per a recent report, the site has had odds on all the major award categories that evening including the outstanding lead actress in a drama series along with outstanding lead actor in a comedy series. The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards are slated for Monday, September 12th in the evening and are geared around honoring the best in American prime time television. For this year’s edition, Kenan Thompson will serve as the host.

According to one report, Zendaya from HBO’s Euphoria is picked as an overwhelming favorite in the outstanding lead actress in a drama series. Per BetNow’s official site, Zendaya is currently -325 to win the category. Moreover, Euphoria (it is +2000 to win) is also nominated as an outstanding drama series as well. The series has received numerous accolades since its debut in 2019, including other nominations for outstanding drama series and Zendaya has already won the Primetime Emmy Awards for Best Actress in a drama series.
Also in the outstanding drama category, another popular HBO series, Succession, is the favorite to win outstanding drama series at -235. Premiering back in 2018, the Succession series centers on the Roy family which is the very much dysfunctional presiding family of Waystar RoyCo, a giant multimedia conglomerate company. Since the series’ debut, Succession has received a slew of awards and major nominations, including the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. The series has been given widespread acclaim by critics for its acting, writing, musical score, production values, and the thoroughness of its storytelling.
While HBO certainly has its fair share of contenders, Apple TV+ has a couple of strong favorites of its own up for the awards. Currently featured as the favorite in the outstanding comedy series category, Ted Lasso is favored at -175 to win the category for Outstanding Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmys. With lead actor Jason Sudeikis taking on the role of eponymous Ted Lasso, the series has been praised for its acting, writing, and uplifting tone. Like the other contenders on this breakdown, Ted Lasso has won numerous accolades as well including the 2021 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
According to one article, HBO/HBO Max leads this year’s award show with 50 total nominations, followed by Hulu at 26 with Netflix in third place at 23. Succession has 12 total nominations which are good for the most major nominations among all shows. Also from HBO, The White Lotus has the second most total nominations at 11 with Ted Lasso in third place at 10 total. For shows with five or more total nominations, Succession also leads the way at 25. Per the official BetNow website, these betting markets are subject to change based on the show’s time slot potentially changing.
