Moreover, this fight took place back in April of 2022, so there could be some ring rust that has built up over time for the German athlete. Prior to her loss against Mahfoud, Meinke had strung together three consecutive victories against the likes of European staples like Edina Kiss and Lucie Sedlackova.
Winning the European female featherweight title back in 2018, the 30-year-old has been on a nearly two-year hiatus from professional fights and has been hard at work training for this showdown. In her career, she has scored seven decision wins to three knockouts, and has only been knocked out once in her career, that transpiring back in March 2017 against Katie Taylor as well. This was a huge matchup that took place at Wembley Stadium as part of the pre-card fight for Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko later that evening. In her career, she has participated in multiple title fights, eight of them which is a significant number given the amount of overall contests she has participated in.
