An individual who is widely regarded as one of the finest coaches of all time, former Patriots leading man Bill Belichick has rumors swirling around him about where he might land next. Per the latest markets at XBet, the site has a handful of intriguing teams connected as potential suitors to the legendary head coach. At the top of the list is Dallas at +100 to acquire the services of the architect of many successful Super Bowl teams. Additionally, another former rival squad, the New York Jets, is also in the mix at +400 and they recently just let their coach, Robert Saleh, go earlier this month. Meanwhile, two other teams with sitting head coaches are also mentioned, the Eagles (+500) and also the Jacksonville Jaguars (+600). With six Super Bowl rings as a head coach and two more as an assistant, he is perhaps the best ever.

For this report, SBS will be going over the latest updates coming from XBet along with some additional notes and information regarding the website and beyond.

Cowboys leading the way even with a coach in place

Per the site, Dallas is the hands-down favorite at +100 to land the services of Belichick. However, don’t tell that to current Dallas coach Mike McCarthy who has been the leading man in “Big D” since 2020. A Super Bowl-winning coach himself, McCarthy has accrued a record of 45-28 with the Cowboys, including two NFC East titles and three different appearances in the NFL Playoffs. That said, Dallas is always held to a high standard and some are wondering if owner Jerry Jones is looking for someone to take them to the next level. What’s more, the Cowboys are coming off a legendary beatdown at the hands of the Lions at home and on Jones’ birthday to boot. However, some in the media have also noted Jones’ loyalty to Cowboys head coaches in recent years (Jason Garrett), despite sometimes middling results in the spotlight.

After Dallas, an intriguing option for Belichick’s next home, per XBet, is the New York Jets at +400. The former New England head coach has a long history with the New York and actually had two stints as the head coach of the New York Jets without ever coaching a game. This series of events goes back to the late 1990s when Belichick was initially tabbed as the head coach of the Jets in 1997, but the honor instead went to his former head coach, Bill Parcells, in 1997. Then, after the latter stepped down as the head coach in 1999, Belichick was again appointed as the head coach in the Big Apple but resigned abruptly to go coach the Patriots. Could the third time really be the charm here?

Eagles and Jaguars are other intriguing XBet options

Adding on to the Jets scenario, New York recently relieved head coach Robert Saleh of his coaching duties not too long ago and is the only team currently on this top-four list without a head coach (interims do not count). Meanwhile, Philadelphia (+500) and Jacksonville (+600) are two other intriguing Belichick options. Regarding the former, the Eagles have gotten off to a 3-2 start this season, but there have been continued whispers and frustrations around the performance of head coach Nick Sirianni. Of course, the former Colts coordinator has done a great job at least by record (37-19) and playoff appearances (three out of the last three years) to date, but his defenses and game management have been criticized as of late. He has also drawn the ire of opposing fans for taunts during games this season and combative exchanges with the media.

Meanwhile, in Jacksonville, head coach Doug Pederson is also on the hot seat. It would appear after a sour start to this season with a 1-5 coaching record. Another coach with ties to Philadelphia, he won Super Bowl LII in 2017 but was let go following a 4-11 record after the 2020 season. A former NFL quarterback of 13 seasons, Pederson has been the coach of the Jags since 2022 and even led them to an AFC Divisional Round appearance during that season, but things have taken a turn this year. With franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence regressing this year, it would appear that the blame has been more pressed on Pederson and his staff by the ownership team in Jacksonville.

In fact, there are existing media reports that Belichick has been tabbed as a likely contender in this situation in Florida, just like when his former quarterback Tom Brady went to Tampa Bay.
