The NCAAF season continues this weekend with a big clash between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Mississippi Rebels, also known as Ole Miss, in game week 9.
The Sooners have had a near-perfect start to their season so far, and come into this game with a 6-1 record and as the number 13-ranked team according to AP. Ole Miss, on the other hand, have also racked up a 6-1 record ahead of this matchup, and come into this game as the number eight-ranked team according to AP.

Oklahoma had a shocking 2024 campaign, racking up a record of 6-7 and losing the Armed Forces Bowl in the process, but so far in 2025 they have shown unrivalled progression.
Their opening game of the season saw the Sooners take on the Illinois State Redbirds at home, and they put together a stellar display overall to claim a 35-3 win on the opening day. They then took on the Michigan Wolverines next, and once again put together a strong performance to earn 24-13 win.
The Sooners then took a road trip for the first time this season to take on Temple Owls, where they recorded a blowout 42-3 victory to maintain their 100% record. They then returned home to take on the Auburn Tigers, and came out on top in a close game to come away with a 24-17 win.
Oklahoma moved to 5-0 against the Kent State Golden Flashes, with a dominant 44-0 win, but their unbeaten run was halted in their next game as they were thrashed 32-6 by Texas Longhorns. Last time out, they bounced back with a big win on the road against the South Carolina Gamerocks to come into this game with some momentum.
Ole Miss had a successful season in 2024, which culminated with victory in the Gator Bowl as they thrashed the Duke Blue Devils 52-20 in the final.
They’ve now come into 2025 and carried that momentum over, opening their campaign with a huge 63-7 win over the Georgia State Panthers in the opening fixture. Mississippi then took a road trip to face off against the Kentucky Wildcats, and claimed a hard-fought 30-23 victory.
Game three saw a back-and-forth clash against the Arkansas Razorbacks, where the Rebels game out on top with a 41-35 win, before a very comfortable home win over the Tulane Green Wave saw them maintain their 100% record.
Ole Miss then caused an upset against the LSU Tigers in game five as they earned a 24-19 win against the odds, before a 24-21 win over the Washington State Cougars despite a disappointing performance saw Lane Kiffin‘s side move to 6-0.
Last time out they took on the Georgia Bulldogs and saw their unbeaten run come to an end despite holding a lead heading into the fourth quarter, as they eventually fell to a 43-35 defeat, and will now be keen to get back in the win column.

Ole Miss have shown this season that they are more than capable of scoring a lot of points in a game. Across their seven games so far, Mississippi have scored 262 points, giving them an average of 37.4 points per game. They’ve also been strong defensively, allowing just 158 points for an average of 22.57 per game.
Oklahoma, on the other hand, have been winning a lot of games, but their offensive strength and depth isn’t as impresssive as you may expect from a team with a 6-1 record.
The Sooners have scored 201 points so far this season, giving them an average of 28.7 per game. But defensively they have been much better, allowing just 66 points in their seven games, for an average of just 9.4 points per game.
When comparing those, it does feel like a clash of attack vs defense, and that would normally suggest that the Under is the best way to go with your betting.
Expect Oklahoma to slow the game down to prevent Ole Miss from picking up momentum, and also allow less time for any points to be scored. At +100 odds, the value is too good to ignore for the Under 52.5 total points mark, so take it while you can.
