The 2025 F1 season continues this weekend as the grid heads to Miami for the sixth race of the Formula 1 campaign after a thrilling start so far.
Last year it was McLaren’s Lando Norris who came out on top in Miami, finishing ahead of eventual world championship winner Max Verstappen in an event-filled race. But he will have stiff competition if he wants to go back-to-back this weekend.
We’ll take a look at the race as we provide you with our best free F1 betting picks to try and earn you some extra cash while you enjoy the action on the track.

Below you’ll find a list of favorites to win the 2025 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
The pre-season favorite to win the World Championship for the first time in his career, Norris has started the season brilliantly with victory in Australia followed by three consecutive podium finishes.
Last time out in Saudi Arabia the Brit finished in fourth place, but it was a good drive from him and McLaren – who have established themselves as the firm favorites for the Constructors’ Championship this season too.
Norris’ win in Miami in 2024 was the very first of his Formula 1 career, and he did it expertly by navigating a tricky period following a safety car to defend against an aggressive Verstappen and eventually open up a convincing lead. He went on to be the closest contender for the Dutchman in the title race, although he ultimately fell short.
This year though Norris looks far more confident and is in a car that has been fine-tuned and is clearly ready to compete at the highest level. He will no doubt be pushed all the way by his teammate, but his experience of success on this track will stand him in good stead and at +140 there is excellent value in Norris to go all the way once again. He’s our pick to claim victory one again this weekend.

The only man who has had a better start to the season than Norris is his teammate Piastri, who has started sensationally by winning three of the opening five races.
The Australian flopped to a ninth-place finish in his homeland in the season opener but has since gone on to claim victory in China, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia while also finishing in third place in Japan.
He is driving well and has taken perfectly to the new car, while he seems to be thriving under the competition from his teammate. The track suits McLaren’s speed well too, while Piastri’s aggressive style means any overtake opportunities that may present themselves to him will no doubt be taken.
At +140 there is top value in McLaren getting the winning driver in another race, and backing both drivers with the same stake would still give you profit if either wins. That may be the play here.
A three-time world champion chasing history, Max Verstappen can’t be ruled out of the race for another win despite all the complaints about his car this season.
The Dutch driver claimed victory in Japan earlier this season, while also finishing second in China and Saudi Arabia shows that he has the ability to compete still and this is a track where he has had great success historically.
There have only been three previous editions of a Miami Grand Prix, and Verstappen won the first two convincingly in 2022 and 2023, before finishing as a runner-up to Norris in 2024 after locking up early in the race. But interestingly, neither of those wins came when he had pole position and that could be a good omen for him here.
Verstappen knows the track well and, like Piastri, his aggressive style suits the type of strategy needed to get the win. He comes into the race with momentum from Saudi and a winning mentality that can only be matched by the great Lewis Hamilton.
If anyone can cause an upset to McLaren in Miami then it will be Verstappen, and odds of +550 are tasty to say the least.
If you don’t fancy the McLaren dominance of the 2025 season to continue this weekend, then Verstappen is most certainly the best bet to make for an alternative.
