The college football season is reaching a fever pitch and the SEC features a pair of awesome matchups this weekend in Oxford and Baton Rouge. In the first highlighted showdown this Saturday, Georgia travels to Ole Miss for a battle with the Rebels while Alabama squares off with LSU. Both matchups feature teams that are ranked in the top 25 of the college football standings and could be in contention for the conference crown if things go their way. Georgia enters this game as the number two overall team in the country while Ole Miss is ranked as the No. 16 team in the U.S. Meanwhile, the Tide (11th-ranked) take on the 14th-ranked overall Tigers where the latter is coming off a loss to Texas A&M, 38-23.

In this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from each team along with a predicted winner in both matchups and even more additional notes coming from SBS.

NCAA Football Game One Overview

Team Spotlight: Georgia Bulldogs

Coming into this contest, the Bulldogs are aiming for their sixth SEC win to date this season and looking to bolster their overall record of 7-1, with a 5-1 mark in the SEC. Currently riding a four-game win streak, the Dawgs of course have looked like a machine since their loss at Alabama. During this win streak, they have won each game by double digits, including a fantastic 30-15 showdown at the University of Texas, which was then ranked number one in the country. Buoyed by a talented roster of playmakers, quarterback Carson Beck is the key to this offense and he will need to be sharp in this contest. This year he has thrown for 2,302 yards, 17 touchdowns, but also 11 interceptions.

Team Spotlight: Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels counter with a dark horse Heisman contender in quarterback Jaxson Dart. A talented passer, he already has amassed over 3,000 passing yards this season along with 21 touchdown scores. Wide receiver Tre Harris has been a fantastic weapon for Ole Miss this season with 987 receiving yards and six touchdown scores to date. Running back Henry Parrish Jr. (10 touchdowns this season) has been a great player as well for the Rebels. At 7-2, Ole Miss is an excellent top-20 in the country and is coming off an emphatic 63-31 win at Arkansas.

Prediction

In what should be a back-and-forth matchup, the Bulldogs have an excellent shot of taking out the Rebels if they are able to play mistake-free football. Of course, Ole Miss could play spoiler here especially if they are fired up by the home crowd.

NCAA Football Game Two Overview

Team Spotlight: Alabama Crimson Tide

With two losses already this season, the Tide is aiming for some late-year momentum against an old foe in LSU. While Alabama did knock off Georgia earlier this season, they hit speed bumps against the likes of Vanderbilt and most recently, in Knoxville against Tennessee. Quarterback Jalen Milroe is the steady hand at quarterback for the Tide, but he will have to be on his A-game for them to beat LSU. Alabama is also fresh off a 34-0 shellacking of Missouri at home, but this matchup in Louisiana at Tiger Stadium will surely be a tremendous challenge. Wide receiver Ryan Williams is a dynamic threat for the Tide as evidenced by his sensational catch average off of 35 receptions and 702 yards.

Team Spotlight: LSU Tigers

Our final team breakdown, the Tigers have another talented squad, but like Ole Miss, they are just outside the top 10 in the country in the dynamic SEC. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier completes the quartet of strong passers on this list with 2,627 yards and 20 touchdown scores. While LSU did just fall to Texas A&M on the road, 38-23, the Tigers still have an opportunity to rebound here at home, a spot where they usually have a tremendous amount of success other than their season-opening loss to USC.

Prediction

Another matchup that could go either way, take Bama to win here thanks to their more consistent level of play this season.
