Recognizing and “honoring the worst the film industry had to offer in 2023,” the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards features some heavy hitters when it comes to making awful movies. With that in mind, BetUS of course has multiple betting markets for entertainment and has gotten in on the fun with multiple odds related to the 44th Razzies. Per the main site, there are a couple of favorites that have stood out, most notably Jonah Hill for “You People” at +200 for the category of worst actor. Meanwhile, Aggro Dr1ft, featuring superstar musician Travis Scott, is the top choice to win the worst picture (+140) thanks to its bizarre and rather non-existent plot. Of course, there are some other big names in this category like Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (+200) and 80 for Brady (+400) that could make some noise here as well. In fact, there are five different prop betting markets dedicated to 80 for Brady which SBS will cover below.

For this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest gaming news coming from BetUS and also more thoughts and notes about the online sportsbook.

80 For Brady leads the way in Razzies prop bet markets

In an interesting turn of events, “80 for Brady” which stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, and former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (also the film’s namesake), has five different prop betting markets attached to it. Per the BetUS site, these include if 80 for Brady will be nominated for worst picture at the 44th Razzies with “no” being the favorite at -160. Moreover, if 80 should somehow win the worst picture at the Razzies, it has a money line odds of +600 for this outcome. What’s more, BetUS also has odds related to an improbable outcome (+2500) of 80 being nominated for at least one Academy Award at the 96th edition of the event later this year. Finally, the site is also sharing the prospect of Tom Brady being honored as either worst actor and/or supporting actor at the 44th Razzies with “yes” being the favored outcome at -165 along with 80 having the most nominations at the Razzies (-3000 for no).

As noted above, while 80 for Brady has gotten a lot of attention from BetUS, the site also has information related to which movies are the favorite to take home the “honor” of the worst picture. As noted above, Aggro Dr1f is the top contender at +140 and is notable for its infrared photography and distinctive style by director Harmony Korine (Kids). Per the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, this film has received 37% on the site of 27 critics being positive, with an average rating of 3.7/10. Meanwhile, another stalwart in this category is Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (+200) which is a British independent slasher film that is a horror reimagining of the classic childhood book. The film has drawn widespread attention due to its premise involving a character that is a beloved childhood icon and it has been met with divided reactions.

Jennifer Aniston tapped as Worst Actress favorite

Per the BetUS sportsbook, Jennifer Aniston has been tabbed as the top pick (+250) to win the worst actress award at the 2024 Razzies for her starring role in Murder Mystery 2. Rotten Tomatoes has this to say about the film: “A generally mediocre sequel to its similarly middling predecessor, Murder Mystery 2 could have been much better … and a whole lot worse.” The film has an average rating of 4.9/10. Other top contenders in this category are Ana De Armas in Ghosted (+350), Diane Keaton in Maybe I Do (+400), and Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man: Quantomania, +400).

Finally, as noted above, Jonah Hill is the not-so-leading man in the category of worst actor for his starring role in You People (+200). Following him in this category are Ben Affleck in Hypnotic (+400), Adam Driver in 65 (+400), and Chris Evans in Ghosted (+400). Rotten Tomatoes has given You People an overall score of 40% of 131 critics’ reviews. Moreover, the consensus on the site reads that the film has plenty of comedic potential, but it is mostly wasted on a picture that does not commit to being either a social commentary or a romantic comedy. While it remains to be seen if BetUS is going to release more betting markets for this award show prior to the event, make sure to check out the website for the most updated odds.
