Georgia had a strong season in 2024 as they claimed the SEC Championship with an overtime win against the Texas Longhorns, before being eliminated from the playoffs at the quarter-final stage.
But they have started the 2025 season strongly too, and will be hoping to go even further this time around.
Their opening game of the campaign saw them host the Marshall Thundering Herd, and they waltzed to a comfortable 45-7 victory, proving their credentials as contenders once more. They followed that up with another dominant home victory, this time against Austin Peay Governors, in a 28-6 win.
Up next came a tough fixture against the Tennessee Volunteers, who were ranked No.15 at the time, and in a back-and-forth clash, they claimed a 44-41 win in overtime to maintain their 100% record.
However, a clash against the number 17-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide saw that record come to an end in the very next game, as they fell to a 24-21 defeat. Since then, the team has bounced back with a comfortable 35-14 win over Kentucky Wildcats and 20-10 win over Auburn Tigers to get back in their rhythm.
After starting the season with the number-four-ranked coaches and number-five-ranked team, they now come into this game with the number-nine-ranked team and number-seven-ranked coaches.
Ole Miss had a successful season in 2024 as they claimed victory in the Gator Bowl, defeating the Duke Blue Devils 52-20 in the final.
They’ve now built on that success with a fantastic start to the 2025 campaign, and began their campaign with a dominant 63-7 win over Georgia State Panthers in their opening game. A trip to the Kentucky Wildcats followed that, and the team turned in a top performance to claim a 30-23 victory.
A return home against the Arkansas Razorbacks saw another entertaining clash in game three, as Mississippi claimed a 41-35 victory to maintain their 100% record. Tulane Green Wave were the next opponent, but they couldn’t stop the momentum train and the Rebels claimed a comfortable 45-10 win at home.
Number-four-ranked LSU Tigers made the trip for game five, and many expected Ole Miss to suffer their first defeat of the season. However, Lane Kiffin‘s side put in a fantastic performance and came away with the surprise victory, earning a 24-19 win to move to 5-0.
Last time out, Mississippi hosted the Washington State Cougars, and they struggled with their overall performance but managed to earn a 24-21 win to keep their perfect record.
The Rebels started the season ranked No.21 by AP and with the number 15-ranked coaches, but now sit at number five in both rankings after their fantastic campaign.

The line for this market looks fair and good, but it’s worth noting that some bookmakers are going with a slightly higher line, which suggests this may be very good value.
Ole Miss have shown so far this season that they are able to dictate the tempo of a game and score a lot of points, and that suggests that they are likely to push this game at a fast pace to use their offensive power to their advantage.
Georgia like a slightly slower pace than their opponents, and that may make it a bit more difficult for the Over to land. However, it should also be noted that the Rebels will be pushing them all the way to speed things up and score points.
Both teams have a route to victory, and that is a positive when looking at the Over. Georgia will be keen to use the likes of Chauncey Bowens, Nate Frazier and Gunnar Stockton against a weaker Mississippi rush defense.
Ole Miss have their own advantages too, and with both teams undoubtedly feeling they’ll have the edge to hurt their opponent, we expect attacking displays and that means lots of points scored. With odds of -108, there is good value in the bet too, so take it while you can.
