The 2025 Formula 1 season continues and heads to Belgium for the 13th race of the season, with McLaren and Red Bull continuing to battle it out for the Drivers’ Championship.
In the 2024 edition however, it was Ferrari star Lewis Hamilton, then of Mercedes, who came out on top to claim the victory after a controversial ending that saw George Russell disqualified for failing to meet the minimum weight requirement. In what has proved to be an open season, this race promises to be exciting once again.

Below you’ll find a list of the favorites to win the 2025 Formula 1 Belgium Grand Prix.
The man currently favorite to find success in Belgium is McLaren star Oscar Piastri, who currently leads the Drivers’ Standings ahead of his teammate by just eight points.
The Australian driver has been in fantastic form so far this season, winning five of the 12 races so far – with victory in China, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Miami and Spain, while he has also finished on the podium in Japan, Emilian Romagna, Monaco, Austria and Silverstone.
Piastri’s previous two appearances in Belgium have had very different results. His first race in 2023 saw him retire early, while in 2024 he finished as runner-up following Russell’s disqualification, for just the fourth podium of his fledgling career.
Now he comes into this race eager to prove that he’s the best driver on the grid this year, following a disappointing result at Silverstone last time out, where he showed anger and frustration towards his own team for not giving him pole position back.
This is a track that suits his driving style well, and is one where the car should flourish ahead of it’s rivals. This is his longest stretch without a race win so far this season, so at odds of +160 there is good value in him to go all the way and extend his lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship. He may be the joint favourite, but he’s also the best value to win, and that makes him our pick.

McLaren have been the dominant team on the grid this season, and Norris is running his teammate right to the wire at the top of the standings.
The British driver won the opening race of the season in Australia but then had to wait until Monaco to claim his second victory. He will head to Belgium after winning back-to-back races in Austria and England too, which added to podium finishes in every other race except for Saudi Arabia and Canada this season.
Norris’ previous successes in Belgium have been mixed. His highest-ever finish came in fifth-place, while in his other five races he finished outside of the points places three times. But this year he heads to the track with the best car he’s had in his career and in sensational form, which makes him an intriguing pick.
Much like Piastri, this is a track that suits his car and at +160 there is decent value in getting him to find victory. But his previous failures on this track mean the odds seem a little shorter than they should be. He’s still a good pick, though, and could well find a win.

The reigning and defending world champion, Max Verstappen has had a mixed season so far amid big question marks over his future with Red Bull and his annoyance with the car.
The flying Dutchman has won just two races so far this season, claiming victory in Japan and Emilia Romagna, while he has also finished on the podium in Australia, Saudi Arabia and Canada.
However, when he has raced in Belgium previously in his career he has had great success, winning on three of the last four occasions in 2021, 2022 and 2023. He also finished third in 2018 and 2020, while he finished fourth last time out.
Verstappen looked to be in fine form at Silverstone in the last race, as he claimed pole position, but he spun out on a wet track following a safety car, which cost him his place on the grid. If he can recapture that pace in Belgium, mixed with his experience of victory here in the past, he’s a solid pick for victory. At +400, there is good value too, although it will likely take an error from McLaren and Ferrari to open up the path to victory for him.
