Below you’ll find a list of favorites to win the 2025 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
The man currently leading the way in the bookies’ thinking for this race is McLaren star Piastri, who has started the season in blistering form and currently leads the Drivers’ Championship standings.
The Australian finished in a disappointing ninth place in the opening race of the season in his homeland, but he has since won four Grand Prix races in China, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Miami while claiming a podium place in Japan and Emilia Romagna in the following seven races.
On such an iconic track, it’s bizarre that there is often so little action taking place because of the tightness and restrictions in place, which makes qualifying well hugely important. So far this season McLaren have dominated proceedings for the most part, and they will feel confident about doing so once again this weekend.
Piastri’s two previous appearances in Monaco saw him finish in 13th place before claiming the runners-up spot in 2024, showing that he is getting to grips with the track too as he gains more experience.
He’s now in the best car he’s had in his career too which will help, and +190 is great value for the best driver so far this season to get another win.

While it’s his teammate that leads the way heading into race No.8 for the season, it was Lando Norris who was the bookies favorite before the campaign started to be crowned world champion.
A fast start to the season saw him claim victory in the opening race of the season in Australia, before securing three consecutive podium finishes, and then finishing fourth in Saudi Arabia. He then finished as runner-up in Miami and Emilia Romagna to keep himself in the running for the championship, but he’s currently second in the standings for the world title.
Norris looks super confident this season, and he knows he has the car to match his lofty ambitions. Much like Piastri, he’s in the best car of his career and while he’s never won on this track, he did finish third back in 2021, before a fourth-place finish last season too.
This is a big opportunity for him to finally claim victory and at +225 odds, there is tremendous value on Norris being able to upstage his teammate and claim a victory for the first time on this track.

The reigning and defending world champion has had a strong start to the 2025 Formula 1 season despite the consensus being that McLaren have dominated so far.
The flying Dutchman’s Red Bull car claimed it’s third victory of the season at Emilia Romagna last time out, having previously finished first in Japan and Saudi Arabia, leaving himself just 22 points off the top of the Drivers’ Standings despite his complaints about the car this year.
He’s also one of the most successful drivers on the grid at this track, having won the race twice in the last four years in 2021 and 2023, while also finishing on the podium in 2022.
Verstappen knows the track is aggressive with his overtakes and will take risks as he always does, and it’s likely to pay off if he qualify well. He also knows better than most how to defend a lead here. With a good start and a strong qualification, odds of +330 are almost too good to ignore, considering he’s coming off a win too.
If you’re looking for a better value bet than the favorite, the reigning champion is the man to back.
