The annual NASCAR All-Star Race offers the drivers a chance to have some fun and catch their breath. While it’s still a very competitive event, the all-star race does not count toward the NASCAR Cup Series championship chase.
Nonetheless, it’s the top drivers on the circuit that oddsmakers are leaning toward as the picks to win this so-called exhibition race. Series leader Kyle Larson is set as the +500 favorite. However, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell are all right on Larson’s heels, each with a betting line of +600.

Getting into the NASCAR All-Star race requires the establishment of a racing resume. All race winners from last season and this season gain entry. As well, any past winner of the event qualifies as an entrant. Any previous NASCAR Cup Series champions who competed the entire previous season also receive automatic entry. A fan vote is also held to determine one spot in the all-star race.
Let’s look at the top contenders for the NASCAR All-Star Race.
NASCAR Cup Series leader Larson spent the early part of the week participating in practice for the Indianapolis 500.
If you believe in betting trends, then this is Larson’s year. He’s the odd-year winner of the NASCAR All-Star Race. Larson was victorious in this race in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
In the last two years since the all-star race switched locales to North Wilkesboro Speedway, Blaney’s No. 12 Ford has been in contention both years. He has finished sixth and fifth respectively.
Hamlin won the all-star race in 2015. Last year, he drove his No. 11 Toyota to a second-place finish behind Joey Logano.
The ever-consistent Bell can never be counted out of any race. In last year’s all-star event, he ran fifth, fourth and fourth in the first stages before having car issues and fading to 18th in the final stage.
Currently third in NASCAR Cup Series standings, Bell shares the season lead with three race wins.
Second in Cup Series points, this race has not been kind to Byron. His No. 24 Chevrolet ran 19th out of 20 cars last season. He finished 20th out of 24 racers in 2023.
The reigning champion in the all-star race, Logano also drove his No. 22 Ford to victory in the 2016 event.
He’s another short-track ace who shouldn’t be ruled out, especially if you’re looking to get a price with your wager.
Last year, not only did he win the pole and the race, Logano led 199 of 200 laps.
Elliott has fared well in both all-star events at North Wilkesboro. He ran eighth last year and finished fifth in 2023.
The final chance to get into the NASCAR All-Star Race is via the Open event prior to the big race. All NASCAR drivers who haven’t found a way to get a spot in the all-star race compete in the Open race.
The All-Star Open is a 100-lap race. The top two finishers in the event garner a spot on the grid for the all-star race.
Ty Gibbs is set as the +150 favorite to win the All-Star Open. Bubba Wallace and Justin Haley are each given a betting line of +300. Both Carson Hocevar and Ryan Preece are assigned odds of +550.
One of the best short, flat-track racers on the cicruit, this is Blaney’s race to win. He’s among the most consistent performers on the smaller NASCAR racing surfaces.
Over the past year, Blaney’s average finish on short-track circuits is 5.5. Go with Blaney as the best bet to win the NASCAR All-Star Race.
