Ranked as low as the No. 487 player in the world as recently as March of this year, the 26-year-old has had an excellent tournament to this point in the best outing of her career. That said, she has knocked off the world No. 1 player before, doing so at the 2021 Australian Open in a great win against home favorite Ashleigh Barty.
In her last match, Muchová bested No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling three-set duel, winning the final portion, 7-5. This matchup however will be her most difficult yet as her opponent is on a torrid hot streak this tournament.
