St. Louis Blues Narrow Favorites For The 2019 Stanley Cup

St. Louis Blues Narrow Favorites For The 2019 Stanley Cup
The 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Odds make the St. Louis Blues the narrow +550 favorites with the defending champions Washington Capitals closely behind with NHL futures odds of +500. The Blues have reached the Stanley Cup final three times and lost all three of those games. Can they finally go all the way this year?

St. Louis Blues are the narrow +550 favorites to win the 2019 Stanley Cup despite their poor record in the playoffs. The Blues reached three consecutive finals in 1968, 1969 and 1970 and were blown away 4-0 in each of those best-of-seven fixtures, twice to the Montreal Canadiens and ones to the Boston Bruins. Is 2019 the year the Blues finally win the Stanley Cup?

  • St. Louis Blues are the +550 favorites to lift the 2019 Stanley Cup
  • Washington Capitals are priced at +600 to be the 2019 Stanley Cup champions
  • Both Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Islanders come in at +650 third-favorites
  • Vegas Golden Knights are +1000 due to having a Game 7 fixture against San Jose Sharks to contend with
  • This was the first playoff series that the Colombus Bue Jackets have ever won

Can St. Louis Blues Finally Win the Stanley Cup?

The St. Louis Blues may have never won a Stanley Cup but online bookmakers give them NHL odds of +550 to finally get the money off their backs and secure hockey’s most prestigious title.

Blues have navigated their way to three Stanley Cup finals, although not since 1970. They have lost all three of those Stanley Cups by a 4-0 margin, so history is not on Blues’ side, but that could be all set to change as the Blues look to have found their form.

After finishing third in the Central Division, tied on 99-points with Winnipeg Jets, the Blues enjoyed a 45-28-9 record, scoring 247 goals and conceding 223. The Blues took on Winnipeg Jets in the First Round of the NHL playoffs and ran out 4-2 winners, winning the first two games, losing the next brace before winning the next two fixtures.

A Blues win could hinge on keeping Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko fit. This fantastic duo scored 61 goals and made 84 assists between them during the regular season. O’Reilly has already enjoyed his best-ever NHL season in his debut season with the Blues.

Dallas Stars await the Blues in the Second Round of the NLH playoffs with the Stars’ odds of making NHL playoffs finals and winning the Stanley Cup priced at +800. The Dallas Stars have featured in four Stanley Cup finals, losing three and winning one in 1999.

The Stars were one of the four Wild Card teams and they made it through to the Second Round following a 4-2 series win over Nashville Predators who had won the Central Division this season. Stars won the opening playoff game before they fell to a 2-1 deficit before winning the next three games to progress to the Second Round.

Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov are key figures for the Stars, the former having amassed 80 points during regular season, scoring 33 goals and assisting 47. Radulov already has four goals in the playoffs to go with the 29 he scored during the regular season.

Washington Capitals Could Retain Their Title

Washington Capitals are the +600 second favorites to win what would be back-to-back Stanley Cup titles. The Capitals lost their first Stanley Cup final appearance in 1998 but won at the second attempt against the Vegas Golden Knights. Now they have the chance to win another Stanley Cup although they first after win Game 7 of their First Round Playoff match against Carolina Hurricanes. Should they do this, and to be honest they should blow them off the rink, the Capitals are likely to be installed at overall favorites for the Stanley Cup. The fact the Capitals are the Stanley Cup second favorites despite not even being in the Second Round shows how strong they are.

Vegas Knights Hoping For Back-To-Back Stanley Cup Finals

Like the Washington Capitals, the Vegas Golden Knights have to contend with a Game 7 fixture in the First Round of the 2019 NHL Playoffs. The Golden Knights are tied 3-3 with San Jose Sharks in a game that Bovada prices both teams at -110! Should the Golden Knights manage to make it through to the Second Round, they will face Colorado Avalanche who swept the Calgary Flames aside 4-1.

Golden Knights navigated their way to the 2018 Stanley Cup final during their inaugural season and lost to the Washington Capitals. The team from “Sin City” will fancy their chances against the Avalanche if they indeed make it through, although they will then face the winner of Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues in the Conference Finals.

You can bet on the Golden Knights winning the 2019 Stanley Cup final with odds of +1000 but these will plummet should they beat San Jose Sharks on April 24th
