Originally owned by the Disney Corporation, the Ducks were christened the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim when they joined the NHL as an expansion franchise in 1993, named for the 1992 Disney movie about a youth hockey team starring Emilio Estevez, a film that was so successful it spawned two sequels. The NHL Mighty Ducks weren’t a success story to start, at least not on the ice. They made the playoffs just twice and won a solitary playoff series in their first nine seasons before making a shocking run to the Stanley Cup final in 2002-03.
Three years later, the team was renamed the Anaheim Ducks and the next season after that the Ducks turned in a mighty successful performance, winning the Stanley Cup.
Anaheim Ducks Betting Lines Today
During the regular season, there’s no safer bet than the Anaheim Ducks. They were the NHL’s best regular-season team between 2012-16, posting a 181-81-32 record.
Anaheim led the NHL in poits (394), points percentage (.670) and regular-season and overtime wins combined (161) over that span and tied with the St. Louis Blues for the most overall victories. Anaheim, the Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks were the only NHL teams to garner at least 100 points in the standings every season between 2012-13 and 2015-16.
In 2015-16, Anaheim became the first team to lead the NHL in both power-play percentage and penalty kill success since the 1984-85 New York Islanders.
Anaheim Ducks Scores & Schedule
The Anaheim Ducks game scores and schedule are below and there’s one thing you can be certain about when the Ducks are playing. They will be stingy in terms of surrendering goals.
The Ducks can play it tight, and are just as comfortable winning 1-0 as they are at taking 4-3 or 5-4 decisions. That can make it a difficult choice for you when wagering on the total in Ducks games, so it’s wise to do your homework and know as much about their history with their next opponent as can possibly be gained before making a decision on which way to go with your bet.
Anaheim Ducks Standings Right Now
Here you will find the Anaheim Ducks standings and during the 2015-16 NHL they made an amazing recovery and a meteoric rise as they won their fourth successive Pacific Division title.
Anaheim was 16 points out of the division lead at mid-season, becoming the first NHL team to erase a 41-game deficit of that size and win a division title since the New Jersey Devils rallied from a 19-point disadvantage to catch the Philadelphia Flyers and win the Atlantic Division title.
How To Win At Anaheim Ducks Betting
There is one absolute certainty that’s been true about the Ducks since the start of the 2011-12 NHL season and that’s the fact that you can pencil center Andrew Cogliano into the Anaheim lineup. Coglaino is the NHL’s active iron man. He’s never missed a single game during his NHL career.
He owns the second-longest streak of games played by a player from the start of his NHL career. Only Doug Jarvis, the NHL record-holder for consecutive games played, who played the first 964 games of his NHL career, stands ahead of Cogliano in this category.
The Ducks are the NHL’s regular-season powerhouse. You can almost pencil them in as the Pacific Division champion every season. It’s once the playoffs start that the Ducks become a dangerous wager.
All too often, everything has blown up spectacularly in Anaheim’s face during the postseason. At one point, in four straight springs, the Ducks were eliminated from the playoffs via a Game 7 loss on home ice. To make matters worse, the Ducks led all four series by a 3-2 margins before capitulating.
