The San Francisco 49ers are one of the biggest names in American Football, NFL and Super Bowl history, having won the famous trophy on five occasions, all in a period of just 14 seasons. From 1981 to 1994, The 49ers were the team to beat. They haven't won the Super Bowl in the 22 years since, though. And the 49ers will need a miracle to change that fact in 2016/17. San Francisco have rid themselves of controversial quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who created a media circus with his stance on human rights.  [+]

The NFC West is by no means the strongest division in the NFL. But, even so, San Francisco won't be able to compete in a fairly mediocre division. They are enmeshed in a state of rebuilding which will be a long-term project. San Francisco fans will need to rely on every ounce of patience while they wait for their once-great-team to challenge at the top once again.

How To Win Your San Francisco 49ers Bets

The 49ers are predicted to once again finish rock bottom in the NFC West. The Los Angeles Rams are the only team they have a chance of leapfrogging in what promises to be another frustrating season. San Francisco won only two games during the 2016-17 season, both of which came against divisional opponents. If forced to find a silver lining, that would be it. However, their 2-4 record against fellow NFC West teams was still tied for the worst, with the Rams, in the division.

San Francisco endured a miserable season both at home and on the road. Their 1-7 mark at home mirrored their road record. Kaepernick is indeed gone, but the 49ers haven't found a reliable replacement, even though they brought in two new quarterbacks.

Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley don't exactly exude confidence. Hoyer is the most probable starter for Week 1. He simply isn't good enough to lead the 49ers back to the Promise Land. Far from it. I'd be surprised if the 49ers accumulate four wins in coming seasons.

Scoring just over 19 points per game in the 2016-17 season, the 49ers had the 27th ranked offense in the league. Things don't promise to get much better on that front.

Couple that woeful offense with the league's worst defensive unit and you can see why the 49ers are in a giant world of hurt. San Francisco conceded 30 points per game in 2016-17, two more than the lowly Cleveland Browns.

Avoid backing the 49ers in pretty much any situation. It's a better idea to bet against them, utilizing a parlay to try increase your winnings. This team is doomed for at least three more seasons.
