Best NL Central Betting Sites

The National League Central Division was created in 1994 and still consists of five teams, primarily all which are founding members. The Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers make up the NL Central, which also at one point included the Houston Astros before the club was moved to the American League in 2013. The division is widely considered to be one of the most competitive in all of Major League Baseball. [+]

The Cardinals are a big reason why the franchise has captured 11 World Series crowns — sitting only second behind the New York Yankees. The Cardinals won two World Series in a six-year window and also reached the final in 2013 before losing to the Boston Red Sox in the championship round. The Cards’ last World Series crown came in 2011, when the club went on to defeat the Texas Rangers in the final.

The Reds and Pirates are next on the list, with five World Series titles, followed by the Chicago Cubs with three. The Brewers are the only team in the division to have never won a championship.

The Chicago Cubs are also a team to be reckoned with in the NL Central. The Cubbies snapped a century-old championship draught in 2016, winning its first World Series since the 1908 season. The Cubs needed seven games to take down the Cleveland Indians in the final.

How To Win At NL Central Betting

The NL Central is always a tough division to predict which team will come out on top. The Cardinals have won the division 10 times and are always a favorite to come out of the NL Central. However, the Chicago Cubs have positioned themselves to be a powerhouse for many years to come. After winning the 2016 World Series, the Cubs will only get better — especially considering the club has one of the best pitching staffs in baseball.

The Cubs were remarkable on home soil in 2016, posting a 57-24 record at Wrigley Field. The 2016 champs were equally impressive on the road with a 46-34 record. Chicago also recorded a league-best +252 run differential during the 2016 campaign — driving in 808 while only surrendering 612.

On the mound is where the Cubs will excel. A 3.15 team ERA led the National League in 2016 as the Cubs’ rotation finished with 100 quality starts — a stat that recognizes a starting pitcher that completes at least six innings while allowing three runs or less.

National League Central contests tend to be high-scoring affairs, especially if top clubs like the Cubs and Cardinals are taking on weaker teams in the division.
