Best West Brom Betting Sites

As founding members Premier League, West Bromwich Albion has spent much of their existence in England’s top division. Founded in 1878, West Brom — or the Baggies — won the championship in 1919-20 and finished as runners-up twice. The team also captured the Second Division championship three times — its last coming in the 2007-08 season. It’s the FA Cup where West Brom has found a wealth of success, winning the coveted trophy five times, level with Manchester City, Everton and Bolton Wanderers. [+]

Their most recent FA Cup championship was in 1968 when West Brom topped Everton 1-0. It stands as West Brom’s last major title. The club also captured the Football League Cup in 1966, the first time it had ever competed for the trophy. West Brom’s longest consecutive period in the top division was between 1949 and 1973 and from 1986 to 2002. The 2016-17 season was the 11th consecutive season in the top division since 2002.

Former West Brom forward Tony Brown, who played for the club from 1963 to 1981, is the franchise’s all-time leader in scoring with 279 total goals — 218 of which came in league action. William Richardson holds the record for most goals in a single season with 40 tallies during the 1935-36 campaign.

Brown is also the franchise’s all-time leader in appearances with 720 total matches played.

How To Win At West Brom Betting

West Brom finished the 2016-17 season in a pretty comfortable 10th position. The team’s 45 points kept them nine points – three wins – away from the drop zone. As usual, Tony Pulis’ side were well organized defensively, allowing 51 goals in 38 games. They only scored 43 goalsm, once again proving how much impetus Pulis puts on having stingy defensive teams.

West Brom are also deadly on set pieces, scoring more goals from dead ball situations than most other Premier League teams.

Akin to most top flight teams, West Brom prefer playing their games at the Hawhtorns. Having said that, they perform decently on the road, too. Although they only won three away fixtures, West Brom were able to gain 16 road points, which was good for 11th best in the league. That kind of return is certainly nothing to write home about but West Brom are proficient enought at home to make sure they gain enough points to secure safety.

Nine of the Baggies’ 12 wins came in the friendly confines of the Hawthorns. Accumulating 29 points was good enough for the 11th best home record in the Premier League. Again, it’s an average ranking, but more importantly it provided the type of return that all but assured they would remain in the Premier League for a 12th consecutive season.

Look to back the under in most West Brom games, especially when they’re playing at home. West Brom rarely concede numerous goals in home fixtures and don’t have the offensive threats to break a game wide open. This trend will surely continue going into forthcoming seasons.

The Baggies have been faulted for taiking their feet off the peddle in the latter stages of the season, when they’ve reached the all-important 40-point plateau. West Brom endured another extended poor stint in the 2016-17 season but were able to put some points on the board when it mattered most.

Look for the Baggies to maintain the type of positioning they locked down in 2016-17, nestled somewhere in the middle of the pack.
