Best Kansas City Chiefs Betting Sites

If you didn’t see the Kansas City Chiefs’ 11 win effort coming last season, forgive yourself. No one did. They far exceeded expectations, emerging as one of the NFL’s best two way teams and most consistent weekly betting options, despite coping with a smattering of injuries—specifically in the backfield, with Jamaal Charles and Charcandrick West suffering ill-timed abrasions. You should not view the Chiefs any differently this year. If anything, they’re more dangerous than they’ve been in a long time.  [+]

It all starts with quarterback Alex Smith, who remains one of the most underrated arms in the game. He isn’t the big time playmaker that Tom Brady or Andrew Luck is, but he’s a solid game manager. He completes a ridiculous percentage of his passes and limits the amount of turnovers he commits.

Plus, with Jeremy Maclin in the fold for the first time last season, Smith showed he would let ‘er rip under the right circumstances. He completed more big yardage passes than in any other season of his career, and the chemistry he shares with Maclin should only be better in their second year together.

That both Charles and West should be healthy is huge for the Chiefs, too. There isn’t a better one two running back combination in the NFL. That’s a fact. They will run over opponents, allowing Smith to manage to the clock even better.

This increased intrigue comes immediately after a season during which the Chiefs almost beat the New England Patriots to make the AFC Championship game. That is huge. It proves that the Chiefs are on the cusp of being everything bets, and you should view them as such from now on unless injuries or player performances give you a reason to believe otherwise.

How To Win At Kansas City Chiefs Betting

On the weekly betting front, view the Kansas City Chiefs as strong under wagers unless they prove otherwise.

This might seem odd, given that the Chiefs ranked ninth in points scored per game for 2015. But there are two reasons why you should use them as consistent under gambles.

First and foremost, their defense is ridiculously awesome. They ranked third in points allowed per game last season and weren’t bleeding players over the offseason. They actually retained three high-end contributors on that side of the ball via free agency in Jaye Howard (defensive tackle), Derrick Johnson (inside linebacker) and Tamba Hali (outside linebacker). So Kansas City should be just as good defensively in 2016, which makes for some low scoring games.

Second, and perhaps most importantly, the Chiefs offense is efficient, not potent. There is a difference.

Head coach Andy Reid prefers to burn the clock. He has Alex Smith manage the game with an above average number of handoffs and short yardage throws. The Chiefs like to control the possession time every game, and this is a great way of doing it.

Most of their offensive drives, regardless of whether they end in a touchdown or field goal, take ample time off the game clock. That limits the number of possessions for both teams, thus driving down the total score.

Pair this offensive play style with the Chiefs’ defense, and you have one of the most dependable under plays in the NFL.

Big picture futures are anything but sure bets. Still, you need to play them for lucrative returns, and there are only a handful of teams worth using as division, conference and Super Bowl plays.

And the Kansas City Chiefs are one of them.

With the Denver Broncos losing not only Petyon Manning to retirement, but a few key defensive contributors in free agency, the Chiefs should be viewed as AFC West favorites at the sportsbooks. Either one of the Oakland Raiders or San Diego Chargers could surprise this season, but on paper, both of them are clearly inferior to Kansas City. Pencil them in as your offseason division favorites.

You should also consider betting on the Chiefs’ AFC championship and Super Bowl odds. They will likely hover somewhere between long shots and mid-end favorites during the offseason, but the team’s depth chart has the makings of an all around favorite. That’s a discrepancy you should try capitalizing on.

It’s also one that is pretty much guaranteed.

The AFC is ready for another recognized powerhouse to step up. The Broncos could fall off, no one knows if the New England Patriots will be able to keep up should Tom Brady get suspended and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be without wide receiver Martavis Bryant all year.

The door to AFC and Super Bowl contention is open for the Chiefs—wide open. And they have the talent on both sides of the ball to burst throught it.

So if you’re looking for an AFC futures contender beyond the obvious candidates—the kind that offers adequate returns on bets without seeming too farfetched—take a closer look at the Chiefs.

You most definitely won’t regret it.
