The National League West of Major League Baseball was formed during the 1969 season when the National League expanded, and it is one of the more evenly matched divisions. It was the Atlanta Braves – now in the National League East – who won the first divisional title in 1969, and the Los Angeles Dodgers who finished on top in 2015. The Dodgers are the most successful National League West team thanks to their 14 championships won, including a spell of four titles between 1977 and 1983.
In terms of division titles won, the Dodgers’ closest rivals are the San Francisco Giants with eight titles, followed by the San Diego Padres with five, the Arizona Diamondbacks with five. The only team in the current NL West not to have won the division are the Colorado Rockies, although they have only been a franchise since 1993.
Of the current NL West Division, only the Dodgers, Giants, and Diamondbacks have gone all the way and won a World Series. The Giants have eight World Series titles, the Dodgers have won six, while the Diamondback won their one and only World Series in 2001.
In 2015, the Dodgers finished top of the division with a 92-70 record, followed by the Giants on 84-78. The rest of the division suffered losing seasons, the Diamondbacks were 79-83, the Padres 74-88, and the Rockies 68-94. As you can see, the division is usually quite tight, making for an exciting season-long spectacle for fans of the teams and neutrals alike.

How To Win At National League West Betting
As the National League West teams are quite evenly matched, you tend to find the betting odds also being close, with no major favorite for the majority of the games on the schedule.
You will tend to find the Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites for any game that they play during a typical MLB season, especially when they are on home soil due to their 55-26 home record in 2015. They did finish 37-44 on their travel, however.
With the Colorado Rockies losing 94 games in 2015, expect them to be the underdogs in the majority, if not all, of the games they play during the coming season. Check the injury news before Rockies games because if their opponents have a couple of players on the sidelines, the Rockies could be a good bet due to their longer odds.
Wow! Look at Some of These Terrible Calls
The MLB officials generally do an amazing job in difficult circumstances, but occasionally they get calls wrong, very wrong in some cases.
